New End 2006: Retrospective
Northeast Wisconsin Entrepreneur Networking Day

Barry MoltzBarry Moltz, an award-winning champion of entrepreneurship and nationally recognized author of You Need To Be A Little Crazy was the keynote speaker at NEW END 2006.

2006 was NEW END’s second year, and the regional event was held May 9, at the historic Meyer Theatre in Green Bay.

The day began early with “Breakfast With Barry” at the peaceful Botanical Gardens in Green Bay. Several early registrants were chosen to personally hear Barry’s story of success and failure on his entrepreneurial journey and benefit from what he’d learned along the way. The entrepreneurs got the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to turn courage and passion into success.

After a relaxing luncheon at St. Brendan’s with the event’s key sponsors, the event unfolded at 2006 NEW End Eventthe Meyer Theatre beginning at 3 p.m. with a networking reception providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with people just like them, to find support, and make vital connections to help make their dreams a reality. The audience was treated to an enthusiastic opening by performance entrepreneur, Elzie David of the Vision Company, performing a song he wrote especially for this event, encouraging entrepreneurs to Do a New Thing.2006 NEW End Event

Later in the afternoon, a regional entrepreneur panel made up of local successful entrepreneurs and moderated by Barry Moltz interacted with the audience of 325 and answered questions about the launch and growth of their businesses. Barry added his special2006 NEW End Event brand of humorous commentary and got the best out of the panel and the audience.

Barry brought the entrepreneurial journey home during his keynote address and told us all the truth about starting and growing your own business. Barry told us to hold on during the roller coaster ride of running your own business and the fact that there is no one roadmap to success, but many paths. Barry advised us to always respect and make time for family, because they’ll be with you celebrating your successes, and will be there to support you when your entrepreneurial “car” is careening out of control during the scary downhill ride.

2006 NEW End EventThe evening ended with a networking cocktail reception and the feeling that something very special had happened in the New North. We had networked with people “who were a little crazy” like ourselves, learned new things, been inspired, and collaborated across traditional boundaries to support entrepreneurship and business growth in our region.

Thank you so very much to the sponsors and volunteers that made this special event a reality!
