“NEW END teamed with the New North to present “A Date to Collaborate: Summit 2008”. This groundbreaking partnership between economic development, education, and business resulted in over 800 attendees from throughout the region converging at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center to learn, network, and grow.

The morning’s summit, presented by the New North, featured updates on the six initiatives and a keynote address by Richard C. Longworth, a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Distinguished Visiting Scholar at DePaul University, and author of the book, Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism, published in 2008.

The afternoon’s events included two seminars on social media, presented by Wisconsin business owners CD Vann of SoHo BizTube and Katie Felten of LinkedIn Live. NEW END was proud to present one of the region’s very first seminars on these emerging technologies at the Date to Collaborate.

As seminar attendees exited, they were able to immediately put into practice their newly acquired knowledge of social media tools by stopping at a bank of computer workstations operated by college students from across the region who assisted them with setting up their profiles and answering any questions they had. Who better to train us than the generation that is bringing these new technologies to the forefront? NEW END extends a big thanks to the students who volunteered their time both before and during the event to make the social media workstation a success!
Students Sadie Pietsch and Adam Miskiewicz helped seminar attendees put social media skills into practice.
The networking continued with a cocktail reception at the end of the day.
Networking continued throughout NEW END
Thank you to our event sponsors, the New North, the Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College, and all of the volunteers and planning team members who came together, collaborated, and made the event a huge success.
